Superb and rare miniature portrait of a young woman covering her breasts with a richly embroidered white cashmere shawl. The work is signed and dated on the left: “Fecit 1815 Sophia Giordano”.

Very talented portraitist, Sofia Giordano, was born between 1778 and 1779 and died on May 14, 1829 in the same city. Very few works of this artist are known.

Excellent state of conservation of origin.
