Splendid portrait painted by Jean-Antoine Laurent mounted on a gold ring and protected under an original glass.

The young woman is dressed in a light white dress, on a neutral background, in a three-quarter bust, turned to the left, her gaze facing the viewer. Hidden under the dress the shadow of a medallion, it could be the portrait of the loved one worn on the heart...


Jean-Antoine Laurent is one of the most famous miniaturists of his time. His paintings have a special spirit in their unique style. Miniature painter and painter he is reputed to have studied with Claudot and Durand. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1791 to 1831 obtaining a 1st class medal in 1808. Laurent was protected by Joséphine and Queen Hortense. His works are kept in the most important museums and private collections.
